The Lawns

September was a month of celebrations at The Lawns. We marked two special birthdays: a 17th, and a milestone 18th. Both were celebrated in style with the whole house.

One of our young people kept up their weekly football sessions at a local club. They have really enjoyed being part of the team, and it has been great to see their confidence grow on and off the pitch.

Cooking nights were a highlight this month. The young people cooked dishes from different countries and learned about each country's culture through its food. Everyone got stuck in, and it was a fun way to try new things together.

Our team is growing too. Three new Therapeutic Care Workers will join The Lawns over the next four weeks. They will bring more support and fresh energy to the home.

We are also proud of our staff:

- One team member has passed their probation period. Well done.
- Two team members have started their Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People's Workforce.

Thank you to the young people and staff for another positive month at The Lawns.

August at the Lawns was spent outdoors. The young people went down the waterslides at the water park and spent long afternoons on Bournemouth beach building sandcastles.

What stood out was the staff. They got in the water, cheered from the bottom of the slides and swapped stories round the dinner table in the evenings. Sharing the days like that is how the team keeps the home feeling settled and safe.

Two new colleagues joined the team this month. The Senior Therapeutic Care Worker role adds another pair of hands to daily care and activities, which means more one to one time for the young people. The Deputy Manager post gives the home a second experienced manager. Welcome to both.
